Habitat ReStore
This thrift store model relies entirely on community donations. Recycling these gently used items keeps usable materials out of landfills, provides our neighbors in the community with more affordable materials to maintain and beautify their homes, regularly employs roughly 20 community members, and supports our homeownership program with donated building materials and profits to pay program expenses.

Bank of America employees volunteer with Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity in Washoe County as part of Global Build, celebrating 40 years of partnership with Habitat for Humanity International WHAT: Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity received a $10,000 grant from Bank of America to make repairs to nine families’ homes in Washoe County as part of the company’s Global Build. On August 1, 2026, ten Bank of America employees from the local Kietzke branch office will volunteer with the organization to participate in a Neighborhood Cleanup Event. Global Build is an initiative between Bank of America and Habitat for Humanity to support affordable housing and revitalization projects in communities around the world. During the next year, Bank of America employees will volunteer with more than 95 Habitat organizations in the U.S. to help build, repair or renovate homes alongside homeowners. Bank of America has helped revitalize communities through volunteer service and financial support of Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity made possible by its longstanding partnership with Habitat for Humanity International which began in 1986.
